Nawas, MD, FAAD, FACMS, is a board-certified dermatologist, fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, and founder of ZN Dermatology in Houston, Texas, where she specializes in cosmetic, laser, and surgical dermatology.<br /><br />Her areas of expertise include cosmetic dermatology, laser and energy-based treatments, Mohs micrographic surgery, skin cancer treatment, surgical dermatology, and dermatologic reconstruction.<br /><br />Prior to founding ZN Dermatology, Dr. Nawas served as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine and as Director of the Cosmetic and Laser Center. She practiced Mohs surgery, cosmetic dermatology, and laser surgery and was actively involved in resident education and clinical program development.<br /><br />Dr. Nawas completed Internal Medicine residency and served as Chief Resident at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She later completed dermatology training and a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.<br /><br />She is board certified in Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery and has served as an investigator on more than 30 clinical trials and authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.</p><p>Her clinical expertise encompasses Porphyria Cutanea Tarda, Melanoma, Basal Cell Skin Cancer, and Squamous Cell Skin Carcinoma.</p><p>Dr. Nawas is board certified in American Board Of Dermatology and American Board Of Dermatology - Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery (Mohs).
