She has been practicing since 2012. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Merriman was an obstetrics and gynecology physician at Centreville OB/GYN in Virginia. Dr. Merriman received her medical degree from St. George’s University and completed her residency training in OB-GYN at Medstar Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore. During residency, Dr. Merriman trained extensively in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. She has earned multiple awards in residency including the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine Resident Award for Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Resident of the Year Award for Excellence in Surgical Skills and Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology, among other accolades. Dr. Merriman is committed to the welfare of women and babies during pregnancy and has a special interest in treating high-risk obstetric patients as well as caring for individuals navigating perimenopause and menopause. Dr. Merriman is a native of the DMV area. She lives locally with her husband and three children. In her free time, Dr. Merriman enjoys supporting Washington sports teams, with a special love for the Commanders.
