Dr. Gowthami Arepally

I mainly treat patients with genitourinary cancers including prostate, kidney, bladder, testicular and penile cancer.  My goal is to be attentive and devoted to my patients who are often dealing with complicated health problems. I try to personalize my care because every patient is different. I believe the future is promising because new treatments are being discovered every day. I am involved in clinical trials done through Duke University.  Clinical trials are designed to provide patients with access to the newest possible treatments. I am also part of our multi-disciplinary cancer team including urologic oncologists, geneticists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and other specialists.  I grew up in Cary and did all of my medical training in the Research Triangle Park area. I feel honored to practice in the same community I have lived in for more than twenty-five years. I enjoy when a patient can leave my office with a complete understanding of what is going on and what they need to do to get better. As a young child, I had bad allergies and spent much time in the doctor’s office. As a frequent patient, I enjoyed spending time around medicine. As I entered college, I found that I enjoyed chemistry and that hematology allowed me to combine lab work with patient care.
