Dr. Aleodor Andea

Johann Gudjonsson, MD, PhD is the Arthur C. Curtis Professor of Molecular Skin Immunology and the Frances and Kenneth Eisenberg Emerging Scholar of the Taubman Medical Research Institute. A graduate of the University of Iceland Medical School, he completed his internship and dermatology residency training at the University of Michigan. Dr. Gudjonsson has served on the faculty of the University of Michigan Department of Dermatology since 2008. He provides general medical dermatology patient care at the University of Michigan Taubman Center and maintains clinical and research interests in inflammatory and autoimmune disorders involving the skin.Dr. Gudjonsson came to the U-M in 2003 as part of an innovative research residency training program. Building upon investigative dermatology training completed in Iceland, Dr. Gudjonsson has been performing basic immunological and genetic work on psoriasis at the U-M. Dr. Gudjonsson's primary research focus is basic immunological and genetic research on psoriasis, with projects directed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis. He received the 2007 Young Investigator Award from the American Academy of Dermatology, was named the 2018 Rising Star Lecturer for the Society for Investigative Dermatology and was recipient of the American Skin Association Research Achievement Award in Psoriasis in 2021. Dr. Gudjonsson's research has been supported by research awards from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the American Skin Association, Dermatology Foundation, Doris Duke Foundation, among others. Dr. Kelly Harms, MD, PhD, is a faculty member in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Michigan and the director of our Multi-disciplinary Cutaneous Oncology clinic. She provides patient care in our Cutaneous Surgery and Oncology clinical programs, including the Mohs surgery clinic and multidisciplinary melanoma and cutaneous oncology clinics located within the U-M Rogel Cancer Center. Dr. Harms is a board-certified dermatologist and ACGME Fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon, with specialized training and expertise in treating high-risk skin cancer.Dr. Harms joined the Dermatology faculty in 2014, upon completing her ACGME procedural dermatology fellowship, with advanced training in melanoma and cutaneous surgery and oncology at the Rogel Cancer Center. Her clinical work is focused on Mohs surgery and associated reconstruction, as well as the complex management of patients seen within our Multidisciplinary Melanoma and Merkel Cell Programs.Dr. Harms received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and her Ph.D. degree from the Medical Scientist Training Program in the Department of Cell Biology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed her internship in the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Michigan Hospitals. She completed her dermatology residency, post-doctoral research training, and procedural dermatology fellowship in the Department of Dermatology, University of Michigan Medical School. Her clinical research is focused on skin cancer biology and epidemiology, and therapy. Dr. Harms is highly rated in 8 conditions, according to our data. Dr. Tejasvi received his medical degree from Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, India. He completed residency-training program and worked as senior resident in Dermatology and Venereology, from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. He completed post-doctoral training in genetics of psoriasis under the direction of Drs. R.P.Nair and James T. Elder at the University of Michigan, Department of Dermatology in Ann Arbor.Dr. Tejasvi's primary research interest is translational genetics, epigenetics in psoriasis and pharmacogenetics that involves application of genetic information to predict response to therapies.
