Dr. Alexis Franks

Alexis Franks, MD, is a specialist in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and is certified in Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Colorado at Denver School of Medicine and completed her Neurodevelopmental Disabilities residency at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Franks’s clinical interests include neurogenetic, neurometabolic, and intellectual developmental disorders, and her research interests include neurodevelopmental implications of exogenous perinatal exposures. She has multiple publications and is a member of the Child Neurology Society, the American Academy of Neurology, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society for Neuroscience, and the American Medical Association.
