Dr. Stalburg, MA is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Learning Health Sciences at the University of Michigan. She completed medical school at the University of Michigan Medical School in 1992, after graduating with High Distinction from the University of Michigan in 1988. Dr. Stalburg went on to complete her residency training at the University of Michigan in 1996 and has been on faculty in the Division of Women's Health since. In 2006, she completed a Master of Arts degree in Education at the University of Michigan's School of Education. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Stalburg is actively involved in medical education, health professions education research, and the development of faculty as educators. She has held a variety of educational leadership roles, including Chief of the Division of Professional Education in the Department of Learning Health Sciences, Chair of the Central Group on Educational Affairs within the AAMC, and Co-Chair of the Women's Health Test Material Development Committee of the NBME. The recognition that she is most proud of, however, comes from the Ann Arbor Family Press, where she was voted as the Readers' Choice for Ob/Gyn care in 2018, and as a Family Favorite in 2016. When not at work, Dr. Stalburg is an avid football fan and enjoys music, reading, horseback riding, and travel.

She is nationally recognized as an expert in defecation disorders, surgical education, and reconstructive surgery.She is the past President of the Association of Professors of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Urogynecologic Society. As Director of the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Board for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Board of Urology, she was instrumental in obtaining official recognition of the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery from the American Board of Medical Subspecialties.Dr. Fenner has received numerous awards for her contributions as a physician surgeon, educator, and leader. Most notably, in 2011 she was awarded the “Continence Champion” by the National Association for Continence, and in 2014 she was given the Sarah Goddard Award by the University of Michigan for leadership in the advancement of women. In 2015 she was recognized with the Life Time Achievement Award by the American Urogynecologic Society and in 2017 she received the prestigious Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics Lifetime Achievement Award. Most recently, Dr. Fenner was recognized for her leadership in the advancement of women in academic medicine with the 2019 Rudi Ansbacher Leadership Award for Support of Women in Healthcare.
