Dylan B. Tierney

Overview

Dr. Dylan B. Tierney completed his medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University, his residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and infectious disease fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Tierney specializes in the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis (TB). He is a lead clinician in the TB clinic at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His current research explores the implementation of high-quality TB care (universal screening, rapid molecular diagnosis, expedited treatment informed by drug susceptibility testing) as a way of preventing transmission in hospitals with a high burden of TB. Dr. Tierney is also passionate about global and domestic health equity. He conducts operational research on strategies to decrease the barriers to care for patients of color and other marginalized populations at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Tierney is board certified in Infectious Disease. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 18 peer reviewed articles and participating in 1 clinical trial.
