Dr. Justin Purdy

The Society of Hospital Medicine defines a hospitalist as a physician who delivers comprehensive medical care to acutely ill, hospitalized patients. Dr. Justin Purdy is a hospitalist who treats adult patients at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital. He uses the latest technologies, including ultrasound at the point of care for rapid bedside diagnosis of heart, lung and abdominal conditions. It is Dr. Purdy's priority to share decision-making with patients and their families. His research interests include exploring the role of clinical coaching in medical education and professional development, as well as point of care ultrasound for hospitalists. Dr. Purdy is an assistant professor of internal medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He once won a game of musical chairs in front of a full crowd at a minor league baseball game.

His clinical expertise encompasses Liver Failure, Endoscopy, and Gastrostomy.

Dr. Purdy is board certified in American Board Of Internal Medicine , Drug Enforcement Administration , Missouri Dept Of Health/Narcotics&Dangerous Drugs , and Missouri State Board Of Registration. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 1 peer reviewed article.
