Dr. Michael J. Brunnquell

I divide my time between the hospital and my clinic, bringing the depth of hospital-based medicine into a proactive outpatient setting – focusing on preventing disease and not just treating it. I spent the majority of my career practicing hospital medicine, caring for patients with acute and complex illness, from the general wards to the intensive care unit. Managing high-acuity conditions has given me a deep understanding of how quickly health can deteriorate without good prevention and risk assessment. My goal in the clinic setting is to identify risk early, intervene thoughtfully and help patients avoid the kinds of medical crises I treat in the hospital. I was fortunate to train alongside exceptional doctors in critical care and cardiology, and that experience continues to shape my approach. I am passionate about the prevention and management of atherosclerotic disease, including heart attack and stroke. I am also interested in sorting fact from fiction in longevity medicine and in solving complex medical problems that do not always fit neatly within standard guidelines. My philosophy is simple: meet patients where they are, understand their goals and apply world-class, evidence-based medicine in a way that is individualized, strategic and practical. Medicine should not be one-size-fits-all; it should be precise, thoughtful and aligned with the life each patient wants to lead.
