When it comes to health, nothing is more valuable than time. That’s why we’re building the world’s most advanced platform for helping people living with health conditions – from the very rare to the most widespread – find better care, faster.
February 29, the rarest day of the year, is Rare Disease Day.
We chose to launch MediFind on Rare Disease Day 2020 in support of the rare disease community, which includes about 1 in 10 Americans, and millions of people worldwide. People living with rare diseases often face years of struggle to get correctly diagnosed, overwhelmingly complex medical information, a dearth of effective treatment options, and many other challenges on their path to health.
The rare disease community has adopted the zebra as a visual representation because doctors are trained that “when you hear hooves, think horses, not zebras.” But sometimes, as with rare disease, it really is a zebra.
Millions more are living with a more common, though still serious, chronic health condition. And with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, people with underlying health conditions in particular need tools that help them fiercely advocate for their own health and that of their loved ones, now more than ever.
We won’t stop working until we help everyone find better care, faster.
