Dr. Robert C. Davidson

Dr. Davidson was born in Georgia in 1963. The family moved a lot, so he had the chance to grow up in Florida and Northern Virginia. After graduating from James Madison High School in Vienna, VA, he attended the University of Virginia. He enjoyed the Echols Scholar program, graduating in 1985 with a degree in Chemistry. It was then on to medical school at Duke. Medical school was interesting, but he found himself particularly fascinated whenever the lecture turned to how the topic affected the eyes or vision. After spending much of his third year of medical school at the Duke Eye Center doing research, the decision to pursue Ophthalmology was cemented. After an internship in Internal Medicine, he started training in Ophthalmology at Tulane University in New Orleans in 1991.Following his residency-training program, he moved to Phoenix in 1994, and started Chandler Eye Center in 1996.He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Association of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Phoenix Ophthalmology Society and is a member and past president of the Arizona Ophthalmological Society.He has a special interest in refractive cataract surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology. He offers cataract surgery, laser treatments including LASIK and glaucoma procedures, upper eyelid surgery, and MIGS procedures for glaucoma.His strengths include taking the time to get to know each patient and addressing their needs. His gentle and attentive demeanor creates a good chairside manner that patients find reassuring. In addition to his formal education, he has a wealth of experience with many different types of eye conditions and diseases and he enjoys trying to find the best solution for each individual patient.He lives in Scottsdale with his wife Janice and their 2 Chihuahuas, Chico and Killer. He and his wife can often be found hiking or biking roads or trails in the Valley, the state, and the Southwest.Chandler Eye Center is a family owned practice that has been located in Chandler since 1995.  Since we are a small boutique practice we strive to go over and beyond for every  patient.  When coming to Chandler Eye Center, you will ALWAYS see Dr. Davidson not an associate or an Optometrist.  He personally handles each patient's eye needs.  Should you need surgery, you will see him every step of the way from initial evaluation to your one month post op.  Our patients matter to us and it shows!.
