MediFind Content Policy
MediFind is a place where individuals come to find reliable health information, connect with leading specialists and doctors who care, and learn about cutting-edge scientific advancements. This policy dictates what is and is not allowed to be posted by professional users on their MediFind profiles.
About this policy & future updates
This policy covers any content posted to a MediFind profile, in any medium (including but not limited to text and video) by a clinician, administrator or other authorized user.
Interpretations of this policy and how specific content aligns or fails to align with this policy are at the sole discretion of MediFind. This policy is subject to change at any time without prior notice. Changes will be posted to MediFind’s webpage.
Standards for content on MediFind profiles
Content on MediFind profiles must be about the clinician for whom the profile exists, and relevant to medical practice. Within that, there are some types of content that are not allowed to appear on MediFind profiles, including content:
- That is disparaging of any race, ethnic group, religion, creed, sex, gender, sexual orientation, physical or mental health (including medical condition), vulnerable social needs, family structure, or other class of person.
- That promotes the use of substances, products, or supplements that contribute to harming the health and safety of the public.
- That advocates against vaccines or discourages vaccination.
- That is inaccurate about a Provider’s educational history, work experience, publications or other information on a profile.
- That presents outdated or inaccurate medical information. This extends to information that contains deceptive, false, or misleading claims.
- That discourages any reproductive healthcare choices.
- That violates HIPAA or discloses any protected health information.
- That is primarily about the personal faith of a Provider, or faith healing.
- However, for practices or providers affiliated with specific faiths, we encourage reference to how that affiliation informs care practices on MediFind.
- That directly or indirectly promotes eating disorders. This includes content that attempts to create negative self-perception to promote diet, weight loss, or other health-related products.
- Content about recovery from, or research about, disordered eating can appear.
- That promotes suicide or self-injury.
- That contains depictions of people in sexually explicit or suggestive situations. This includes activities that are overly suggestive or sexually provocative. Nudity is occasionally allowed for the purposes of medical clarity and accuracy at MediFind’s sole discretion.
- That solicit financial contributions of any kind.
- Political advertisements advocating for or against parties or candidates.
- Nonpartisan civic engagement content is permitted if it is health-focused (e.g., “You can vote on this healthcare item on this date.”)
- That promotes a non-existent or fake product or service offering.
- That contains unsubstantiated claims about a competing service or Provider.
- That uses unlicensed logos or brand names.
- That contains profanity, bad grammar, and/or punctuation.
- That is low-quality from a technical perspective, such as out-of-focus video content or videos with audio issues.
- That otherwise would likely offend a reasonable person in the context of looking for medical information.
