Overview
Von Welch enjoys understanding health conditions and finding the best path to management. He believes in preventing the complications of diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol and believes in vaccines to prevent infectious disease. Health is worth effort as it affects our experiences, relationships, and capabilities. Compared to other internists, he prescribes fewer opiods and sleeping pills and discourages cannibas. He encourages exercise, healthy eating,�self-monitoring, and disease understanding. He also�encourages organ donation.�Von was turned on to science in Mr. Howells (5th�grade) class when he made an electric motor out of spools and wire.�He planted pineapple in Hawaii as a teen and learned to fly hang gliders in California. He also enjoys bird watching and playing acoustic guitar in the bluegrass or gospel style.
