Using the latest in laser and surgical techniques, Dr. Zarnegar specializes in cataract, pterygium and eye-related plastic surgery as well as vision correction surgery including LASIK, Custom LASIK, and intraocular lens implants. Dr. Zarnegar has been providing comprehensive medical eye care, including glaucoma, to Central Coast residents since 1996.Dr. Zarnegar received his Medical Doctor degree from St. Louis University, where he also served his residency in ophthalmology. In addition, he earned his Bachelor of Science degrees from Santa Clara University, and pursued post-graduate studies at San Jose State University and Stanford. He serves on the editorial board for the peer-reviewed journal, Annals of Ophthalmology/Glaucoma.Dr. Bylsma has been a principal investigator for numerous FDA investigational studies, including the Visian Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL), the AquaFlow implant for glaucoma and the Collamer Intraocular Lens. He continues this work with ongoing FDA studies involving Viscoshield viscoelastic substance and the new Hoya intraocular lens. He has been an author in numerous textbooks, scientific journals and ophthalmology magazines.
