
Overview
Dr. Marcella Fornari is a board-certified, fellowship trained breast surgeon at Atlantic Breast Associates, where she treats benign and malignant breast disease. She is committed to exceptional patient care and uses the most advanced techniques for breast conservation and nipple sparing mastectomies. A doctor of osteopathic medicine, Dr. Fornari believes in taking an integrative multi-disciplinary approach to treatment of breast cancer to ensure the best outcomes for her patients. Fellowship trained at Columbia University Medical Center, Dr. Fornari assisted in clinical surgery, managed benign and malignant breast disease, and taught medical students and residents. She performed her general surgery residency at Hackensack UMC Palisades, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Fornari pursued medical school at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV and attended Rutgers University for her bachelors of science, where she remained at UMDNJ for her master’s degree in the graduate school of biomedical sciences. Dr. Fornari is fluent in Italian and conversational in Spanish, and she has volunteered her time to in the Dominican Republic on a medical mission trip and as a project coordinator for Operation Smile, Heart of the Holidays, and local food drives. She has an extensive list of research, published material and academic leadership roles. Dr. Fornari is a member in the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the American College of Surgeons, among others. In her down time, she enjoys traveling, reading, cooking and ballroom dancing.
