Dr. Mona Walimbe
Overview
Dr. Mona Walimbe is board certified in endocrinology and internal medicine. She is focused on treating disorders of the endocrine system including: diabetes (type 1 and type 2), thyroid disease, thyroid cancer, osteoporosis and disorders of hormonal imbalance in men and women. With a goal of helping people in her community achieve their best level of health and well-being, this Bernardsville native enjoys being part of New Jersey's well-respected Atlantic Medical Group team.An attending physician at Morristown Medical Center, Dr. Walimbe has been in practice since 2007 and strives to provide the most personalized and highest quality care to her patients. She has received research awards from the American Geriatric Society and has published a textbook chapter on osteopenia and osteoporosis. She has also conducted several research studies in various fields of endocrinology including: osteoporosis, frailty/aging, diabetes, insulin resistance, hypogonadism, acromegaly and pituitary disease. Dr. Walimbe is a graduate of Columbia University and pursued medical school at the University of Pittsburgh. Her residency was completed at NYU Langone Medical Center and she completed a combined clinical/research fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco. Dr. Walimbe speaks Spanish and when she is not working with patients, she enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, writing, creative cooking & trying out new recipes.
