Dr. Aashish Jay Kumar is a board-certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain medicine specialist dedicated to providing cutting-edge, patient-centered care. As the founder and owner of Spine & Pain Specialists of the Carolinas in Charlotte, NC, Dr. Kumar specializes in diagnosing and treating complex pain conditions using advanced, evidence-based therapies. His expertise includes spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion stimulation, and peripheral nerve stimulation, among other innovative procedures designed to improve patients’ quality of life while minimizing reliance on opioid medications.
Dr. Kumar completed his anesthesiology residency at Wayne State University, followed by two fellowships in pediatric anesthesiology and interventional pain medicine at Wayne State University. After his training, he became a Clinical Associate Professor at Duke University School of Medicine, where he contributed to the education and training of future pain specialists.
In 2022, Dr. Kumar returned to his hometown of Charlotte, NC, to establish his own private practice, Spine & Pain Specialists of the Carolinas. His practice is dedicated to delivering compassionate, innovative, and effective pain management solutions tailored to each patient's unique needs.
His mission is to empower patients with innovative solutions that address the root cause of pain, allowing them to reclaim their lives with confidence and comfort.
