Overview
Dr. Amal Masri is a specialist in Gynecologic Oncology at Piedmont, bringing expertise in the treatment of ovarian, uterine, cervical, and vulvar cancers as well as complex benign gynecological conditions. She recently completed her fellowship at the University of Tennessee, where she received extensive training in chemotherapy, advanced surgical techniques, and cutting-edge approaches to cancer care.
Dr. Masri's surgical training includes emphasis in robotic surgery, as well as open and laparoscopic procedures. She is deeply committed to integrating targeted therapeutics into patient care. During her time at UT, Dr. Masri conducted pioneering research on ovarian cancer in a drug discovery lab, culminating in a patient filing.

Cyril O. Spann, Jr., M.D., joins Piedmont from Emory Healthcare. He is board certified in Gynecologic Oncology and graduated from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. Dr. Spann has over 30 years of experience in gynecology and gynecologic oncology. During his time at Emory, he served as Chief of the Gynecologic Oncology Service at both Emory Midtown and Grady Hospital. Dr. Spann is a member of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and is a Diplomate for the American Board of Quality Assurance Utilization Review Physicians. Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Spann served as president of the Atlanta Medical Association and the Georgia OBGYN Society.Dr. Spann specializes in managing patients with cancer in the female reproductive tract. He has a surgical interest in robot/laparoscopic minimal invasive surgery.In his spare time, Dr. Spann enjoys hiking, bicycling, reading and travel.Dr. Spann welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
