Overview
Francine McLeod, M.D., is an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and associate residency program director. A native of the Washington, D.C., area, Dr. McLeod is passionate about community health, health literacy and education. Her areas of clinical expertise include medical and surgical management of menstrual disorders, contraceptive management, abnormal pap smears and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Dr. McLeod received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and she then attended the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore. Dr. McLeod is dedicated to medical education and the use of simulation as a tool for surgical competency and patient safety. Her research focuses on health disparity, patient safety, surgical skills and curriculum development. She is active in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
