My goal is excellent clinical care while educating the next generation of clinicians. | Why I entered medicine | I entered medicine because of the significant impact it can have on people's lives. Trauma and acute care surgeries are typically unforeseen events and the ability to care for patients and aid in their recovery is incredibly rewarding. | Community involvement | I am involved in several medical societies including presenting at national meetings. | Personal interests | I enjoy spending time outdoors running, biking, skiing and playing soccer among other pursuits. We all learned this basic principle from an early age, and I continue to stand by it today as I make critical and life-saving decisions each and every day at your or your loved one’s bedside. | Why I entered medicine | At a young age, I was diagnosed with Legg-Calve Perthes, a rare and self-limiting childhood disease affecting the hip joint, so I was exposed to the medical field early and often. I grew and knew from that experience that I'd be committed to helping others in the future. I wanted a career in which I'd have both a direct and meaningful impact on others health. | Community involvement | My wife, son, and I are all new to the Lehigh Valley. We look forward to truly making it a home and meeting the rest of the community. We're all in this together. | Personal interests | Sports and the outdoors remain an interest and passion for me outside of the hospital walls. Life is a constant pursuit of adventure, pushing the boundaries and a quest for continual self-improvement. Philosophy of care | I make every medical decision with a constant reminder to “do the right thing.” My goal as a trauma surgeon and critical care doctor is to be safe while striving toward your best outcome. I also recognize that outcome is determined by your goals, a fact I will always respect as I do all I can to help you reach them. | Why I entered medicine | I was exposed to medicine at an early age because of family illnesses. I was amazed how a team could save a life and have such a large impact on both the patient and the family. I chose acute care surgery because I believed I could have the greatest impact through its balance of trauma/emergency surgery and critical care. | Community involvement | I am new to the Lehigh Valley, but my wife is from Souderton. After a few years in California we are excited to get involved here. | Personal interests | I love spending time with family and being outdoors. I am always looking toward the next adventure with my wife as we travel in pursuit of great food, coffee and views. When I’m not traveling, you can find me hiking, working in the yard, trying out a new recipe, or watching hockey or football.
