I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico where I completed my medical education and general surgery training at the University of Puerto Rico. As a general surgeon, I treat patients with a variety of conditions, including benign and malignant breast conditions, abdominal procedures such as cholecystectomy, treatment for benign and malignant small, and large intestine pathologies, inguinal and abdominal wall hernia repairs, and many others. The most important aspect of my job is the relationship I build with patients.

In 2018, I joined the faculty at Duke University as the lead physician to build the Acute Care Surgery Program at Duke Raleigh Hospital. It is an honor and privilege to care for patients while training the next generation of surgeons and surgical thought leaders at Duke. When not in the hospital or doing research, I can be found with my family and dog or horse--or maybe you'll catch me enjoying a college football game with my son.
