Overview
Dr. Alena obtained his medical degree from the University of J.A. Komensky in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. He completed his first residency and is board certified in ophthalmology in Czechoslovakia. Dr. Alena later moved to Canada where he taught medical students, conducted cancer research, and received his Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. Dr. Alena then traveled to the United States where he completed his residency training and fellowship in family practice at the East Tennessee State University. Dr. Alena is board certified in family medicine with extensive experience in primary care and special interests in preventive and emergency medicine and ophthalmology. He is dedicated to helping patients lead a healthy life style. Dr. Alena lives in Peachtree City with his wife, Jane, and two children. In his free time, he enjoys nature photography, orienteering running, and art and music. Dr. Alena is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and the American Medical Association.
