Overview
Dr. David Sullivan is a professor of molecular microbiology and immunology at the Johns Hopkins Malaria Research Institute, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health. His research focuses on malaria diagnosis, drugs, molecular biology related to iron, and pathology related to severe anemia. Dr. Sullivan’s team is currently engaged in testing and developing new methods of diagnosing malaria. He earned his M.D. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His work has been recognized with awards from several organizations, including the BIALL Foundation, the Burroughs Wellcome Fund and the Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences.
