
Overview
Dr. Claire Hoppenot is a gynecologic oncologist who specializes in surgery and chemotherapy for patients with cancers of the ovary and fallopian tube, sarcomas and endometrial cancers of the uterus, and cervical, vulvar and vaginal cancers. She is an Assistant Professor of Gynecologic Oncology at the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center Gynecologic Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine.Dr. Hoppenot’s clinical and research interests include: Minimally-invasive and robotic surgery; treatment of uterine, cervical, ovarian, fallopian tube, vulvar, and vaginal cancers, uterine sarcoma, and pre-invasive disease; screening and risk-reduction of women at high risk of gynecologic cancers; surgical and medical education; complex gynecologic surgery; clinical medical ethics; and clinical trials.She has also participated in developing guidelines for the use of heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy for ovarian cancers and research interviewing women with advanced ovarian cancers to compile patterns in patient concerns that could be addressed more frequently in a patient-physician relationship.Dr. Hoppenot received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago and a clinical fellowship in gynecologic oncology at The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.Dr. Hoppenot is a member of the Society for Gynecologic Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.In addition to English, Dr. Hoppenot speaks Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
