Amanda Ridenhour, NP
Overview
I am a nurse practitioner specializing in the comprehensive treatment of adults living with diabetes. I also treat other endocrine disorders including thyroid disease and fertility concerns. I chose endocrinology because I wanted to help people effectively balance their hormones to positively impact their quality of life. I enjoy the detective work of endocrinology in determining which hormones need boosting or limiting, to bring about a positive change in health. Hormones are tricky because they are internal and not visible until we draw blood and evaluate labs. A small deficiency in hormones can sometimes cause a big change in symptoms. Lifestyle affects the endocrine system, and we will discuss life changes that can be made to reduce stress like enhancing physical activity levels. My background is in nutrition and nursing, and so I like to incorporate some of that essential information about diet into our time together. Outside of work, I really love spending time in nature's beauty, taking photographs, riding my bicycle, and meditating. I look forward to working with you and I know that we will find some really good endocrine solutions together, which help improve your overall quality of life and well-being.
