Overview
Nicole Samies, DO, is a board-certified pediatrician specializing in infectious diseases. She treats children for a variety of viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections, including bone and joint infections, meningitis, pneumonia, hepatitis, tuberculosis and herpes, as well as surgical and blood infections. She followed that with a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.|From an early age, she wanted to pursue a career in medicine. “Having the ability to care for someone’s child is the most rewarding experience — knowing I could help make a difference in their life,” she says.|Dr. Samies is an active member in several professional organizations, including the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, Infectious Diseases Society of America, American Academy of Pediatrics and American Osteopathic Association.|Originally from a small town in South Carolina, Dr. Samies came to Danville for her residency. She returned to the area with her husband to be closer to family.|In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, running, bike riding, baking and spending time with family and friends.
