Overview
A family nurse practitioner and an advanced practice registered nurse, Megan Reynolds sees patients at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care. She has been a caregiver since 2017, providing comprehensive primary care for patients from pediatrics to the elderly.Reynolds describes her approach to care as patient-centered, stating that one of the ways she shows humankindness in her work is by explaining conditions and treatments clearly to ease patient anxiety and ensure understanding. “I focus on building relationships with my patients and take the time to understand their unique needs,” she said. “I aim to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, respected and involved in their care process. I believe in treating the whole person and consider their physical, mental, emotional and social well-being.”Reynolds earned her nursing degree from the Chamberlain College of Nursing, later completing a residency there, and earned her advanced practice degree from Ball State University. Her inspiration to become a caregiver stemmed from her desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others. As a registered nurse, she saw the effects of compassionate care on patients’ physical and emotional well-being. She chose her specialty because she enjoys working with patients of all ages, getting to address the different challenges and getting to know them at every stage of life.In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and reading, and also brings those interests to the office. “As I get to know my patients, I enjoy discussing good books and travel destinations—in addition to taking care of their medical needs,” she said.
