My father was a volunteer EMT and I spent countless hours with him at the ambulance company. I truly admired his compassion and willingness to volunteer his time to helping others in need. I was always interested in hearing what emergencies he responded to and what treatments he used to help those patients. My other reason for pursuing medicine was watching the joy and personal fulfillment my family doctor got from taking care of patients of all ages. He made me feel, during a sick visit or a routine check-up, that I was his most-important patient. His interest in not only my health, but also my personal life, was genuine. | Community involvement | I volunteer my time as a youth basketball coach for my township. | Personal interests | I truly enjoy spending time with my family.
