
Overview
Nicole Samies, DO, is a board-certified pediatrician specializing in infectious diseases. She treats children for a variety of viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections, including bone and joint infections, meningitis, pneumonia, hepatitis, tuberculosis and herpes, as well as surgical and blood infections. After medical school, she completed a residency in pediatrics at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. She followed that with a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.|From an early age, she wanted to pursue a career in medicine. “Having the ability to care for someone’s child is the most rewarding experience — knowing I could help make a difference in their life,” she says.|Dr. Samies is an active member in several professional organizations, including the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, Infectious Diseases Society of America, American Academy of Pediatrics and American Osteopathic Association.|Originally from a small town in South Carolina, Dr. Samies came to Danville for her residency. She returned to the area with her husband to be closer to family.|In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, running, bike riding, baking and spending time with family and friends.
