Ofer Jacobowitz, MD, PhD, FAASM, FAAOA is an internationally recognized leader in the medical and surgical treatment of snoring, obstructive sleep apnea and nasal obstruction. He is dedicated to providing accurate diagnosis and comprehensive treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, snoring, nasal and sinus disorders. Treatment is personalized to the preference of his patients, as appropriate, and may include oral appliances, CPAP, or minimally-invasive office procedures for the nose and palate. For some, he performs advanced airway reconstructive surgery or implantable hypoglossal neurostimulation. Diagnosis is provided rapidly via home testing devices such as the WatchPAT device.He is dual board-certified in otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery and Sleep Medicine and is highly skilled at assessing and treating the anatomical aspects of sinus & nasal problems, sleep apnea and spectrum of sleep disorders.He is the co-director of sleep at ENT and Allergy Associates, and is an associate professor at Northwell/Hofstra University. He is a graduate of MIT and the Medical Scientist training program of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep medicine and past chair of the sleep-related breathing disorders section. He has authored many peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and is the chief editor for the textbook “Sleep Apnea and Snoring”. He has been a researcher in implantable hypoglossal neurostimulation for over a decade.
