
Overview
Dr. Ozen is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her area of clinical expertise is Neonatology. Dr. Ozen’s research focuses on immunobiology and immunopathology of pregnancy, resultant fetal – neonatal immune system dysregulation and their neurodevelopmental impact, specifically mechanisms of inflammation/infection-induced brain injury, neuroimmunology, and high dimensional analysis of neonatal immune cells. Dr. Ozen is actively involved with interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary groups in the Children Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM), and Fetal Therapy Center (FTC) in providing evidence-based care. Dr. Ozen is an Attending Neonatologist at Johns Hopkins University Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and conducts outpatient complex prenatal consults for the Fetal Therapy Center patients. Dr. Ozen received her medical school degree at the University of Istanbul, Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine, and completed her Pediatric residency at Hacettepe University, Hacettepe Children’s Hospital in Turkey, and per approval American Board of Pediatrics, a 2-year accelerated track at The Children’s Hospital at Sinai Baltimore in the United States. Dr. Ozen subsequently completed her Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Ozen is a former Ruth L. Kirschtein National Research Service Awardee (T32, Developmental, and Neonatal Biology Training Program) at Stanford University.
