Overview
Michelle received her Master's in Nursing from Georgia State University in 2012 and is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She also has Bachelor degrees in both Nursing (Emory University) and English (University of Georgia) and has been practicing in the Atlanta area since 2006. She joined Thacker, Thompson, & Bernard in February, 2019.
Michelle's areas of interest include preventive medicine & wellness, gender affirming care/transgender care, and HIV prevention and treatment. Michelle is a staunch advocate for eliminating disparities in LGBTQ health care. She teaches a Human Sexuality course at Emory's School of Nursing and is certified as an HIV Specialist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM). She is an active member of UAPRN, WPATH/USPATH, and ANAC. At AAHIVM, Michelle holds a seat on the national Board of Directors and serves on the national NP Committee and the Georgia Steering Committee.
Michelle spends her free time traveling, writing, and exploring the neighborhoods of Atlanta on her bike. She lives in Reynoldstown with her husband and 2 rescue dogs.
