Philosophy of care | I strive to prioritize each patient’s individual needs and preferences by active listening, empathy and involving them in decision-making regarding treatment options. It is important to consider your overall well-being because urological conditions can have physical, emotional and social impacts. I aim to address not only your specific urological issue but also the broader aspects of your health and quality of life. I try to educate all my patients about their conditions, treatment options and self-care strategies. Clear communication is essential to help patients make informed decisions and actively participate in their own care. I also rely on scientific evidence, research and clinical guidelines, and I do my best to provide the most effective and up-to-date care while considering individual circumstances and preferences. | Why I entered medicine | I was drawn to medicine and more specifically urology because of the long-term relationships doctors can develop with their patients. Physicians often work closely with other health care professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care. Such collaboration can foster a holistic approach to managing complex medical conditions. I was also attracted to medicine because of the ethical principles physicians endeavor to uphold, including respecting patient autonomy, confidentiality and maintaining professional boundaries. We as physicians are tasked with prioritizing the well-being and best interests of our patients while considering the broader societal and ethical implications of our decisions. | Community involvement | I served in the U.S. Army the past 10 years and participated in humanitarian missions. I hope to continue my work in the civilian world with local outreach and education on screening for urological disease. | Personal interests | I enjoy playing the guitar and am pursuing my pilot’s license. I also enjoy time with my family, including my wife and daughters.
