My career in medicine was influenced by a good friend who went to nursing school and helped me to imagine it as a possibility for myself. My personal philosophy for treating patients is to offer a compassionate approach as well as the understanding they need. I try to remember that this process is usually confusing and scary for our patients, especially when they first begin their treatment. I was born and raised in Greene County, Tennessee, and have lived in East Tennessee practically my entire life. I am fortunate to have a great family and continue to be blessed in countless ways by all my family members. In order to relax, I love to take a good long hike on a pretty day. Reading a great big book, traveling near and far, eating a good meal or sharing a belly laugh with a kindred spirit are the amongst the many other things I enjoy in life.
