Dr. McKinney earned his bachelor's degree in human biology from Stanford University in Stanford, California, before earning a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He then completed multiple programs at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, N.C., including a fellowship as a part of the National Institute of Health T32 program, a residency specializing in otolaryngology - head and neck surgery, and a fellowship specializing in rhinology, allergy and endoscopic skull base surgery. Additionally, Dr. McKinney also completed a fellowship in rhinology, nasal and sinus surgery at the Georgia Nasal and Sinus Institute in Savannah, Ga. Dr. McKinney has experience teaching as a professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, in the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery. He enjoys mentoring young doctors, speaking at national conferences and has taught numerous medical education seminars for his peers. He was named a top doctor by Oklahoma Magazine in 2022 and has been published numerous times for his studies. Dr. McKinney is a member of six medical professional organizations and is currently serving as Chair of the Skull Base and Orbital Surgery Section of the American Rhinologic Society.
