Ingrid Libman, MD, PhD, is a pediatric endocrinologist and is certified in pediatric endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is director of the Diabetes Program at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and is associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Rosario Medical School in Rosario, Argentina, her PhD from the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh, and completed her residency and fellowship at UPMC Children’s. Dr. Libman’s clinical interests include prediction, prevention, and management of diabetes mellitus in the pediatric population. She has authored or co-authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented extensively nationally and internationally, and is a member of the American Diabetes Association (past chair of the Diabetes in Youth Interest Group), the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (current member of the ISPAD Advisory Council), and the Pediatric Endocrine Society.
