Dr. Dane M. Barrett
Overview
I joined Duke Health as a facial plastic surgeon and otolaryngologist in August of 2016. My practice is concentrated on both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery of the head and neck. I have a strong passion in international humanitarian aid in the form of reconstructive surgery. I have traveled to Kenya, Bangladesh and Mexico to provide general medical and surgical care, with a particular focus on cleft lip and palate surgery. I am originally from North Carolina, but completed my residency training in Virginia and fellowship training in Oregon. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking and photography. I am deeply committed to providing excellent care, partnering with patients to apply surgical expertise that results in a natural appearance and improved quality of life.

As a fellowship-trained facial plastic surgeon, it is my job to balance form and function to accomplish a refreshed, rejuvenated, and balanced outcome. It has been my experience that patients want to avoid the ""operated"" look that is pervasive in the aesthetic realm. In addition, I perform surgeries for functional reasons including: nasal obstruction, cancer defects of the face following Mohs surgery, facial paralysis, and craniofacial trauma. I take pride in being able to offer these services at a nationally recognized medical center with state of the art facilities and support staff. I look forward to our consultation!".
