Dr. Pourmoghadam specializes in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery at Johns Hopkins All Children’s in St. Petersburg, Florida. He treats patients with congenital heart defects and those in the Esophageal and Airway Treatment Program. He joined the hospital staff in 2022. He is a professor of surgery at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, authored book chapters and given many talks both nationally and internationally. Dr. Pourmoghadam earned his bachelor’s degree from University of California at Berkeley, and medical degree from Albany Medical College. After finishing his surgical training in New York, he then competed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami, followed by a pediatric cardiac surgery fellowship at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Medical Center/University of Washington.
