Dr. Stotts' clinical interests include the treatment of children with neuromuscular conditions such as cerebral palsy and spina bifida, genetic disorders and fractures and injuries. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center, at San Antonio. He completed his orthopaedic residency training at John Peter Smith Hospital, in Fort Worth, Texas, and received subspecialty training with a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery at Primary Children's Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children. Dr. Stotts is also the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Orthopaedics at the University of Utah and holds the Richard L. Stimson Presidential Endowed Chair in Orthopaedics. Dr. Stotts consults for the State of Utah Children with Special Healthcare Needs, serving rural areas including St. George and Vernal. Dr. Stotts practices through the University of Utah School of Medicine at the Primary Children's Hospital (both the main campus and the Riverton campus). Dr. Stotts also serves as an orthopaedic surgeon at the Shriners Clinic for Children - Intermountain, in Salt Lake City, Utah where he is a Co-Medical Director of the Motion Analysis Laboratory.
