Dr. Ammar Joudeh
Overview
Dr. Ammar Joudeh is an obstetrician and gynecologist who provides comprehensive gynecologic and obstetric care, addressing abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, ovarian cysts, sexual health and family planning, contraception, vulvar conditions, pelvic pain, endometriosis, menopause and abnormal Pap tests. He has special expertise in caring for gynecologic conditions in cancer survivors and other patients at elevated risk of gynecologic cancers. He also provides preconception, prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care and performs minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and in-office procedures. Centering care on each patient's needs, values and preferences, he embraces shared decision-making and individually tailored treatment plans. Joudeh earned his medical degree at UCSF and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of California, San Diego. Prior to medical school, he conducted research on maternal health, infectious disease and educational programs in Zambia, India and the Philippines. His academic interests include improving the quality of obstetric and gynecologic care, as well as teaching medical students and residents. Outside of work, Joudeh enjoys yoga, surfing, skiing, reading and music.

She serves on the boards of the Society of Surgical Oncology, International Thyroid Oncology Group, Association for Academic Surgery Foundation and American Thyroid Association, where she is also treasurer.
