Overview
Andrea Dorak-Steinerman is a physician assistant specializing in sports medicine. She cares for adults with a variety of orthopaedic conditions including sports injuries, sprains, strains, minor joint dislocations and fractures. She also applies splints and casts, provides joint injections, interprets X-rays, prescribes medications and coordinates any needed follow-up care.|“I enjoy the variety that comes with my job,” she says. “I take care of patients of all ages, see a variety of injuries and perform various procedures. I also work with a lovely and supportive team at urgent care, who make every day enjoyable.”|Ms. Dorak-Steinerman earned her physician assistant degree from Misericordia University in Dallas.|She was inspired to become by her mother, an ICU nurse who was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer when Ms. Dorak-Steinerman was in grade school. “I chose to go into medicine to not only learn more about the human body and disease processes, but also to help others in need,” she says. “Learning about medicine helped to provide closure and inspired my passion for disease prevention. I want all of my patients to maximize their quality of life.”|A native of Hanover Township, Ms. Dorak-Steinerman moved to Connecticut after college, but returned to northeastern Pennsylvania to be closer to her family. She and her husband, a veteran of the U.S. Marines, are the proud parents of a 2-year-old son.
