Overview
Originally from the Appalachian Highlands, Andrea Newton, FNP-BC, chose a career in nursing after caring for her grandparents who were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and cardiac diseases. “I wanted to learn more about the body and how preventative measures and medication could improve patient outcomes,” she says. Newton began her nursing career in the cardiovascular department at Bristol Regional Medical Center. At Ballad Health Medical Associates, she enjoys getting to know her patients both about their diagnosis and personal lives. Newtons says, “it is rewarding when patients tell you that you have made a positive impact on their life.” When she is not working, Newton, can be found volunteering, hiking and boating in the Appalachian Highlands.
