Overview
I grew up as the son of a veterinarian who works on small and large animals. I always enjoyed going on emergency calls with my father, and that interest stuck with me in college. I served as an EMT with Duke EMS while I completed my undergraduate education at Duke. After graduation, I worked for Durham County EMS and Orange County Emergency Services as a paramedic for four years. During medical school, I found myself drawn to the emergency department. I enjoy the variety, acuity, and complexity of the emergency department, not to mention the immense satisfaction of helping people immediately in their time of need. I also enjoy providing that care outside of the hospital alongside the EMTs and paramedics in the community. I enjoy opportunity to serve with Wake County EMS as an EMS physician and associate medical director.
