As a physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor, I am inherently focused on quality patient care. Caring for patients in our field aims to add back life to a patient’s coming years – in the sense of improved function and quality of life. This means finding ways for patients to overcome impairments in order to be able to do the tasks and activities needed for meaningful living. I aim to treat patients and prevent complications so we can focus on regaining function. Care therefore centers around patient education to ensure my patients understand the process. My main areas of practice within rehabilitation include treatment of neck and shoulder pain caused by cervical dystonia, chronic migraine management, TMJ pain caused by oromandibular dystonia, and electromyography procedures (EMG).
