Dr. Gustavo Oderich focuses on the clinical evaluation, open surgical and endovascular treatment of aneurysms, dissections, trauma, and aortic pathology involving any segment of the aorta, including the aortoiliac, juxtarenal, pararenal, complex abdominal, thoracoabdominal and aortic arch.He has broad and extensive experience in a wide spectrum of arterial and venous diseases affecting all vascular beds, including carotid, supra-aortic trunk, upper and lower extremity, abdominal and pelvic vessels.He is a world-renowned authority on innovative minimally invasive endovascular techniques to treat complex aortic aneurysms using fenestrated and branched stent grafts. Dr. Oderich has several firsts, including the “first-in-man” implant of the antegrade WL Gore TAMBE stent-graft (Thoraco-Abdominal Multi-Branch Endoprosthesis), the first-in-man implant of the Cook ZFEN Plus stent-graft and the first-in-man total trans-femoral three vessel arch device using antegrade branches. Dr. Oderich extensive clinical experience includes thousands of patients treated by open surgical and endovascular procedures. He has performed over 2,000 standard endovascular and thoracic aortic repairs (EVARs/TEVARs) and nearly 900 fenestrated-branched, fenestrated and branched endovascular repairs (FB-EVAR, FEVAR, BEVAR).Dr. Oderich clinical experience as a leader in vascular surgery spans over two decades. He has a versatile open surgical and endovascular practice that also includes the management of carotid, supra-aortic trunk, renal, and mesenteric artery diseases. He is involved in the multidisciplinary care of patients with connective tissue or heritable disorders including Marfan’s, Loeys-Dietz Syndrome and Vascular Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Dr. Anthony Estrera is a graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. He completed a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Board certified in surgery and thoracic surgery, Dr. Estrera’s clinical interests include cardiac surgery, valvular heart disease, aortic aneurysms and aortic dissection. He has practiced in Houston since 1994, treating patients 18 and older. Dr. Estrera is professor and chief of cardiac surgery in the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth and medical director of Cardiovascular ICU and Cardiovascular IMU at Memorial Hermann Heart & Vascular Institute. He has received numerous professional recognitions and has authored or co-authored 26 book chapters and more than 100 articles in medical journals. Dr. Estrera’s practice philosophy reflects patient-centered care ensuring that “the patient always comes first.” He believes in good communications and provides individualized, personalized patient care. A resident of Houston, Dr. Estrera is married and the father of four children. His favorite leisure activities are running, swimming, reading and coaching. Dr. Danny Ramzy earned his medical degree at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He earned a PhD in medical science at the Institute of Medical Science of the University of Toronto, where he also finished a residency in general surgery. He completed a second residency in cardiothoracic surgery, a fellowship in transplant and mechanical assist devices and a fellowship in aortic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. An internationally recognized leader in minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgical interventions and the development of new devices, Dr. Ramzy is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and American College of Surgeons. He focuses on minimally invasive and robotic procedures, which offer less discomfort and faster recovery times for patients, as well as a higher level of care and greater efficiency for both providers and patients. He speaks English, French and Arabic. His clinical interests include robotic mitral repair and replacement; robotic coronary arterial bypass; robotic MAZE procedures; robotic aortic valve replacement; right anterior thoracotomy; ascending aortic replacement and myectomies; transcatheter approaches, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR). He is also a recognized expert in surgical heart failure and transplantation, including mechanical circulatory support. Dr.Ramzy is the chief of cardiac surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and the medical director and surgical director for the Heart & Vascular Institute at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. Author of more than 115 peer-reviewed publications and more than 200 abstracts, he also serves as an editorial board member for The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
