Overview
I was initially attracted to medicine because it explores how the human body works. However, my driving force for becoming a doctor was simple: a desire to help. As a primary care physician, I value the relationships I cultivate with my patients and the collaboration we share in their health care. I strive to be approachable, and my ultimate goal is to be the kind of doctor I would want to see. I immigrated from the island of Barbados in 2017 and spent the last six years training in Ohio. It was there that I was first exposed to individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders. Due to this experience, I pursued additional training in this field, which has become a special interest of mine. I recently moved to North Carolina, and I am excited to explore everything it has to offer. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time with my husband and son. My faith and my family are important to me; they motivate and sustain me.
