Philosophy of care | My philosophy of care has always and will always be centered around the patient experience. I do what I do to see that you have an excellent outcome with the best care my team and I can provide. I like to be goal oriented with you, asking what your expected outcome is and working together to achieve that outcome or as close to it as we can to improve your quality of life. | Why I entered medicine | I’m a second-generation orthopedic nurse; my mother is entering her 50th year as a nurse with no signs of slowing. I got into medicine to make a difference in people’s lives, and learned early in my nursing education I had a passion for the operating room. Seeing patients on one of the most unsettling days of their lives and reassuring them that I would take care of them as if they were family while under anesthesia and throughout the entire surgical process gave me a sense of worth professionally and personally. I have furthered my education through certifications and by expanding my role so that I could lead a team in the same philosophy of caring for our patients together. | Community involvement | My husband runs a small business in the community where we live, and we are both active in our small community church. | Personal interests | I live in Northeastern Pennsylvania with my husband Jason. I enjoy spending free time with my family in the Poconos. I believe music is essential to life and am always interested in hearing new music or seeing live shows and concerts. Jason and I are foodies and enjoy trying new places and traveling, particularly to Aruba and New Orleans.
