"I love being a pediatrician because children are incredibly fun and resilient and I enjoy watching them tackle every new stage of development. Hearing, ""Dr. Anna, guess what I got in school today?"" or ""We played doctor at home and I got to be Dr. Anna,"" makes me feel grateful to be able to play a role in children's well-being. My job as a pediatrician is to support, educate and guide families, as well as to provide reassurance. I want to know what my patients and their parents are thinking. I like to slow down and listen, so we can confront any issue together. I grew up in Chicago where I received my MD, after which my family and I moved to Milwaukee, WI. There, I worked as an assistant professor in the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Emergency Room and then for six years at a pediatric practice.
