Dr. Anne Marie Gerstner is a specialty care physician board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She joined Inova in 2023 and has been practicing since 2018. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Gerstner worked as an OB/GYN physician at Prisma Health in Columbia, SC. Dr. Gerstner has clinical interests in all areas, particularly in office procedures such as IUD placement and removal, LEEPs, biopsies, etc. She is also well practiced in laparoscopic surgeries. Dr. Gerstner enjoys working with and caring for diverse groups of women. She feels that understanding women of different backgrounds and cultures is a main component of being a physician. This is important, not only to be able to provide comprehensive care as a physician, but to also make the patient feel comfortable sharing private details about her life. Dr. Gerstner’s patient care philosophy is that physicians should also be teachers. She believes that if physicians take the extra time to communicate to patients, it gives patients a better understanding and ability to be in charge of their own health. She feels that this is particularly important during a time when answers may inaccurately be sought out on social media. Outside the office, Dr. Gerstner loves being outside and is excited to live in the DMV area which has many walking and running trails. She enjoys going on trips to see friends and family, traveling to new countries and experiencing new foods and customs.
