Overview
After earning his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, Dr. Gross completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Riverside Hospital (now Riverside Regional Medical Center) in Newport News. He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Delivering babies and sharing that experience with families was the most meaningful experience Dr. Gross had in medical school. Since then, he has spent four decades caring for women as an obstetrician and gynecologist. Considering his role to be a privilege, Dr. Gross feels it is most important to listen attentively to his patients, treat them well and always do the right thing on their behalf. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Gross serves on the boards of Riverside Health System and Eastern Virginia Medical School, and as medical director for Virginia Health Network. He served 16 years as executive vice president and chief medical officer for Riverside Health System. Originally from Alabama, Dr. Gross has spent most of his adult life in Hampton Roads, where he thoroughly enjoys the people and the water. Married with four children and eight grandchildren, Dr. Gross’s personal interests include basketball, music lyrics and gardening.
